A fresh start in a building steeped in history. Hazel's new home occupies one of Occidental's most cherished historic properties. it carries the stories of generations past while welcoming an exciting new chapter.

Jim & Michele Wimborough spent the early years of their careers cooking in the Bay Area at top restaurants such as Boulevard, Zuni, and Kokkari among them. They opened Hazel in 2015, and Occidental has been their home ever since—their community, the place where they've raised their son Graham and built something they're deeply proud of. This new location is their second chapter and they couldn't be more excited to continue the journey surrounded by all the bounties of Western Sonoma County.

Their commitment remains the same: local, seasonal, and sustainable dishes served with warmth. Jim brings years of experience with rustic, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, while Michele's love of pastry shines through in everything from her award-winning pies to fresh fruit shortcakes, cookies, cakes, and beyond.

Hazel is named after Jim's great grandmother—a passionate cook and wonderful hostess. Summers spent in her home gave Jim a deep love of cooking and an appreciation for generous hospitality. Jim and Michele carry that tradition into everything they do, welcoming every guest to Hazel as if they were a guest in their own home
